"Ghost pilots" of II/JG 51

Bonjour all

After some victories with the II/JG 51,these pilots seem to have completely "disappeared from the radars",but J could be wrong!.
Have they been killed, wounded, removed from flying personnel, transferred to others unity?

Ofw.Heinrich Lulwes (6.) 5/JG 51
Fw. Alfred Rebel (3.) 6/JG 51
Fw. Walter Kabis (2.)
Uffz. Waldemar Funk (5.)4/JG 51
Ofw. Karl Elsner (5.) 4/JG 51
Lt Helmut Ruscher(2.) 6/JG 51
Oblt.Hans Mihlan (7.) stab
Uffz.Werner Buttke(2.) 6/JG 51

If anyone can helm me?

Thank you in advance

michel

Heinz Mihlan (not Heinz) later served with SG 4, serving as Staffelkapitän of 8./SG 4 from February 1944 to 6 June.

This day as a Hptm, he was involved in a fight against Allied fighters and claimed a P-51 but was then hit and forced to bail out. He was apparently unhurt.

Lt Helmut Ruscher - I believe the last name is Ruschen. He also flew with JG 54 for a time and survived the war.

Re: "Ghost pilots" of II/JG 51

Thanks Guys

Their spell still seems mysterious except for Ruschen
I have a small doubt that Hans Mihlan is Heinz Mihlan,in JG 51 it's well Hans

Re: "Ghost pilots" of II/JG 51

Hi,

Heinz Mihlan returned to III./S.G. 4 after the 6 June 1944 incident, and later became a Major, surviving the war. He died in the 1960s.

Cheers,
Andrew A.
