Bf 109G-14, 5xxx, S.G.101
Hi, guys.
In the loss record of 09.09.1944 several Bf 109G-14 are mentioned as destroyed at airport Brünn, unit reported as S.G.101. Unfortunately the WNr are reported in 4 digits only, all being in the range '53xx'. I have been trying using my references to establish the first two digits of the WNr of these aircraft, and I have come to the conclusion that they probably should be Erla built aircraft in the 465000-465400 range. As far as I can see, the only other 'fitting' WNr ranges would be 165000-166000 and 785000-786000 built at Mtt Regensburg. I have entered these as ??53xx in my database as of now, but if anyone have further information I would be very grateful. Regards, Andreas |

Re: Bf 109G-14, 5xxx, S.G.101
Andreas, agree with your hypothesis as to those WNr. being 465xxx block. The 165xxx has several conflicts due to other losses and the 7853xx block does not appear to have seen the light of day. I have no losses for that group. I have WNr 785198 and then the next machine is 785475. Had considered the prospect that they may be Bf 110s or Stukas, the unit being SG 101, but again ran into conflicts with earlier losses.
