Bf 109 G "yellow 16" belly landing
Hello,
I got two photos via emil in bad quality (very low resolution scan) of a belly landed Bf 109 G (tall rudder, Erla-hood, long tail wheel). Less damage, IMHO ~15%. It's a "Yellow 16", there IS a poor horizontal bar visible. The cowling line is not clear visible, can be a AS or a normal bulged cowling. It got a sign on the cowling, poor visible. Most possible with size and position is the heart in a check from the JG 77. For a JG 53 Pik-As is it IMHO to small. On the back of the photos I can read: "Die gelbe 16 Bauchgelandet am 26.12.1944 Ober-Fähnrich Stopwasser" The name is not clear to read. The owner tell me the pictures where taken at the Herford area. I try to get better scans of the photos, but it will take some weeks. Greetings, Flc

Re: Bf 109 G "yellow 16" belly landing
Thanks for the information, Falcon;
Could you - if possible - post already the low res scans you have? I'm most interested… Thanks in advance Marc |
