Question about book "Schlachtflieger" from Luftwaffe Colours

Hi guys,
I have noticed, that the book "Schlachtflieger - Luftwaffe Ground Attack Units 1937 - 1945" from the series Luftwaffe colours has two different front covers, one with a Bücker 181, from the authors Smith, Pegg, Goss, Arthy, Beale and Forsyth, as can be seen here:
http://www.christian-schmidt-fachbuc...798c9148dc4beb

the other one with a Henschel 129, authored by Mr. Ehrengardt.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Schlachtflie...4782027&sr=8-2

Is there any difference in the content of the books or is it just the front page, that makes the difference? And, if the content is the same, could anybody tell me, why there are two different front covers?

Many thanks in advance
Robert

Re: Question about book "Schlachtflieger" from Luftwaffe Colours

The one with the Bücker on the cover is the volume that is sold.
there is no difference AFAIK, because there exists only this one volume.
difference in covers comes from the fact that the publishing houses publish news about forthcoming releases before they are even near a final layout process-just look at the Osprey website and their future releases.
they often use old covers with about the same topic to illustrate future books.

I guess the same has happened here...

so never mind the HS-129 cover, get the volume if you can, it is very nice although the topic could have easily been expanded into a 2 or even 4 part series me thinks

cheers
phil

Re: Question about book "Schlachtflieger" from Luftwaffe Colours

Robert, do you own the Osprey Aviation Elite volume about the Schlachtflieger too?
this one contains more info about the Schlachtflieger arm, its creation, its units and its operations, but just as the Classic volume, it is only a starting point.
should you have any special interest within the topic of the Schlachtflieger, feel free to post them, I will try to point out some more books of interest for you then

cheers
phil

Phil,
many thanks for your offer, my interest in Schlachtflieger is just beginning to rise, so I think this book will be a good start. I guess, I will also look for the book you mentioned and will come back, if I have a specific question.
Thanks again
Robert

Re: Question about book "Schlachtflieger" from Luftwaffe Colours

Chris, do you know why Classic/Chevron/Midland has decided to do only one volume about the Schlachtflieger?
at least two volumes would have been needed to do the topic some justice, one is waaaayyy too less IMHO...
