1 July 41 RAF loss

On 1 July 1941 Lt. Wilhelm Schmitter claimed a Lockheed Hudson shot down. The claim would be between the time of 04:14-16:23 hours.

I looked through the RAF bomber command losses and did not find anything that might match up with this possibly being mistaken for a Blemheim. Also given the time of day for Schmitters mission I'm wondering if it might be a Coastal Command Hudson.

Does anyone have loss listings for Coastal Command which might comfirm this?

Regards

Jeremy

Re: 1 July 41 RAF loss

Thanks Peter,

That would make sense with the other info. on Schmitter's mission which was a long range recon./weather data collecting mission W. of Ireland.

On his return flight the time seems right for his ac returning to base and encountering the Hudson.

Thanks again.

Jeremy
