Flt/Lt James B. Sanders 23 - 30 May 1940

Hello,

While looking for information on No.615 Squadron during the Campaign of France, I found the mention that, Flight Lieutnant James B. Sanders would have participated in the evacuation operations of Dunkirk with a Flight on Gloster Gladiator (with other pilots of No.615 Squadron ???).

According to Christopher Shores (Aces Hight) and Norman Franks (Dowding's Eagles), the detachment, based in Manston, would have operated between 23 and 30 May, with No.604 (RAF) Squadron.

Would anybody have any additional details related to activities of this Flight ? If someone has access to No.604 Squadron ORB, does it contain any mention of this Flight ?

Thanks,

Regards,
Alexis.

It does get a mention in the ORB which you can download but I don't think it says much. Sanders, Gaunce, Roberts, Mudie & Evans were transferred to 604 around 23 May "to fly alongside 604" and to act as a sort of top-cover for Manston

Hello,

Thank you for the answer.

I finally looked at the ORB (using the option : "Preview an image of the record"..., not very easy to view but readable), and the mentions are, unfortunatly few, just the mention of the names of the pilots and the list of some flights with the simple mention "Patrol".
