Shattered Sword - The Untold Story of the Battle of Midway

Just finished Shattered Sword - The Untold Story of the Battle of Midway and I recommend it highly to anyone interested in the Pacific conflict, naval warfare or the Imperial Japanese in specific, or well researched and written military history in general. One of the best books I've read this year.

Indeed an excellent book overall. Though for a serious (footnotes+primary research) non-fiction book the writing style is too "streetlike" (=too much language that is more appropriate for gangstas).

You've lost me with that last remark. Both writing and notes seem up to par, so I'm seriously wondering if we are discussing the same content here!
