He may/should try Google translate then. It actually works quite well these days, even with the more complex sentences.

Frankly, Google Translator is horrible. A student of mine wrote her master's thesis about the quality of Google Translator's translation under my supervision a few years ago. The material she analysed showed exactly the opposite of what you say.
I hardly ever use Google Translator, and only for languages I do not know yet. I have recently used it to translate a Hungarian website (I'm currently learning Hungarian, but I'm still a beginner and I can't read in the original) and I had a very good laugh, because, first. the translation said the guy had been married to Vienna and, second, on his gravestone it was written: 'Relax in peace'. According to Google Translator, of course.

Frankly, one must apply some common sense when using Google translate. It can never be 100%, but it really is Ok these days.

Thank you very much for your answers. As for the student, she actually wrote her master's thesis about Polish-English and English-Polish translation, and the automatic translations were indeed quite incomprehensible.
