Uffz MUNCH 3rd Staffel JG26
I am affraid that I struggle with German research. I have traced a reference for a FW190 Pilot named Munch who claimed a 66 Squadron Spitfire on the 30th July 1943.
Can anyone assist me further the name on internet searches failed to help. Thank you in anticipation. Colin. |

Hello,
Your airman is Fw. Heinz MÜNCH (born 17/05/22 at Frankenthal/Neumark and KIFA near Bois de Villers (B) on the 23/12/43). He is credited with 94 ennemy sorties and 3 claims (the Spitfire was his third). He was killed attempting a belly-landing when his FW 190 A-5, (WNr. 410236) yellow 9, hit a power line and crashed.
