Flight Lieutenant Robert Daniel STIRLING DFC RAAF After a photograph of the above pilot on No.218 (Gold Coast) Squadron. He was one of the squadrons biggest jokers and got himself in a number of tight spots with his commanding officer and station commander, a real joker who poked two fingers up at authority. Completed a first tour of 38 operations. There is a famous photo of this mad aussie and his crew currently in a few pubs around Downham Market. They are standing in line drinking mugs of tea on return from an operation !! Any help appreciated Steve
