Surname McDougal - RCAF
A long plea, has anyone come across either a F/O or P/O from the RCAF during WW2, note 1 L, note 2 in his surname, sadly no intials. All I know he was a pilot.
Thanks Danny

Re: Surname McDougal - RCAF
There was a F/O in 408 squadron named Clarence Francis McDougal, J/28550 who was KIA on 29 July, 1944 (Halifax NP716). In some places his name appears as McDougall, but all the newspaper stories of his loss show his name with one "L".
These also show one "L" click on the McDougal/McDougalls in list of names image that appears toward the bottom left of the page: https://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/remem...detail/2356615 This shows one "L" as a correction on the last name: https://www.cwgc.org/find-records/fi.../#&gid=2&pid=1 This shows one "L" as a correction: https://www.cwgc.org/find-records/fi.../#&gid=2&pid=2 This shows 2 "Ls" and note it also lists him as an Air Gunner: https://www.rafcommands.com/database...php?qnum=32031 So... maybe not your man as he was not a pilot, but I think defiantly he was a "F/O McDougal". |
