JG 53 crash on 7 sept 1940

7 sept 1940:
Me109 E4 Wnr 672 of JG 53 crashes shortly after takeoff from Dinard.
It crashes in Languedias, Brittany.
Aircraft is destroyed.
Pilot bails out and is safe.
Any chance to have the name of this pilot?
Merry Christmas to all.

Re: JG 53 crash on 7 sept 1940

I have a couple of sources that agree that it was II./JG 53 aircraft, which took off from Dinan, France. Pilot's name unknown.

Regards,
Sinisa

Sinisa is correct. No further details I am afraid as pilot was uninjured. My guess it was 5 Staffel as it would appear that they did not move to the Pas de Calais until later

Bf 109 E-4 672 80%.

Re: JG 53 crash on 7 sept 1940

You are right, it was taking off from Dinan (not Dinard).

Thanks for information and confirmation, but I am afraid we won't have the name of this pilot, unless we find JG53 somebody's personal's diary;

cheers
