Thumbs up Spitfire Mk IXc AE B serial EN398

Hello all,

I was wondering if anybody has some quality photos of this aircraft. I found one, but the quality was pretty bad. Thank you.

Any idea what's written on the rudder near the top?

It was an inspection stamp.

Have you seen this one?
Some folks think it's not the real deal because it's quite different from a lot of perceptions folks have of JEJ.
This photo was taken when Johnson was Wing Commander of RCAF 403 Wolf Squadron in late 1944 or early 1945 at Eindhoven Holland.

I have not seen that. Thanks. But I though JJ flew a Mk.XIV during that time.

The picture was likely taken before, during or after Operation Market Garden in September/October 1944.
Possibly when 403 Squadron was on the move to Base 82 Grave Holland.

It's the real deal. I've seen a period copy of the same image.

Re: Spitfire Mk IXc AE B serial EN398

Thanks again. Perhaps the dates are off, or perhaps JJ uses multiple aircraft, Becouse in June 44 he was flying a Mk.14c. Thanks again.
