LWS 2 in September 1939
Hello All,
Can anyone tell me if , and in what role the LWS 2 prototype was used in the September 1939 campaign by the Polish Air Force.I understand that it had been handed over to the military as a medical aircraft, but was the the function in which it was employed? Regards, Clint |

Re: LWS 2 in September 1939
Hello Clint,
all I can find is that plane (SP+ATP) was handed over to PAF on 19.V.1938 and used for medical purposes in September 1939 until it was damaged on Krosno airport where it was captured by Germans. Here is the photo of damaged LWS 2 (white one on the right): Hope it helps!

Re: LWS 2 in September 1939
Hello Crolick,
Thanks very much for the reply and particularly for the photo of the LWS 2.I take it that medical aircraft usually retained their civil codes during the September campaign? Regards, Clint |
