Re: Horst Lehrmann, need infos...

Thank you Evgeny and Larry.

Do you think it exist a photograph of Horst Lerhmann ?

1 or 2 years ago a photo of the Me 110's Lerhman was sold on ebay and I look for it.

Something you don't know, he was a close friend to Heinz Bretnütz and also to Walter Oesau. There were together at Döberitz between nov 1936 and march 1937 in I/JG132

thank you again.

Re: Horst Lehrmann, need infos...

Hmm... I dont know his personal aircraft.

I./ZG 26 lost 4 aicrafts with unknown code to date of last combat of Lehrmann (I mean 22.06.41 - 18.07.41), so, it could be that his personal aircraft was lost/damaged. POSSIBLY it could be Bf110E-1 W.Nr.4068 of I./ZG 26, wich was 40% damaged after belly land on Lepel airfield on 14.07.41, just 4 days before Lehrmann was killed.

So, in his last mission he flew in very well known BF110E-1 W.Nr.4091 "U8+AB", Hptm. Spiess, with 21 abschusse markings on fin, "Ringelpietz" and black double schevrons on the nose. I have several photoes of it, but it could be found in many good books about Bf110.

Re: Horst Lehrmann, need infos...

Yep.
22.06.40 - 26.06.41 - StaKa inside I./ZG26 (2./ZG26??)
26.06.41 - 18.07.41 - Gr.Kdr. I./ZG26

Hptm. Spiess was Gr.Kdr. AFTER Lehrmann, so... It means, that Hptm. Lehrmann flew in HIS own aircraft, but not Spiess'.

Re: Horst Lehrmann, need infos...

Evgeny

Looking in Meyer/Stipdonk's Die Deutsche Luftwaffe Zerstörer und Nachtjagdverbände vol 3 there is nothing which indicates that Lehrman was a Staffelkapitän in I./ZG 26

True enough there are names missing from some of the Staffeln, most prominently the name of 2./ZG 26 St.Kap. is missing during the period 18.8.1940 to 3.1941, although this seems to have been a substitute for Herbert Kaminski who was the Kapitän both before and after these dates.

One interesting comment in the book is that they claim Lehrman became a POW. Any comments to that?

Cheers
Stig
