Hello,

We carry the following entry in the EoE Luft Loss DB:

"April 13, 1940: 4./KGzbV 1 Junkers Ju52/3m. Crashed 110 km north-west of Aalborg following engine failure. (Ff) Uffz Joseph Stretz, (Bm) Uffz Werner Opitz, and (Bs) Flgr Alfons Fürsich injured. Aircraft 100% write-off."

It appears from your death card that he subsequently succumbed to his wounds, which we need to incorporate into our DB entry.

Regards,

Larry,

Not for the first time you are quoting from an old version of the database. The entry currently stands thus:

4./KGzbV 1 Junkers Ju52/3m. Crashed in sea 110 km north-west of Aalborg probably due to engine failure during return flight from Stavanger. FF Uffz Joseph Stretz, BM Uffz Werner Otto Opitz, and BS Flgr Alfons Fürsich all missing. Aircraft 100% write-off.
