Exclamation B24 453BG/735BS landing at A-92 on Jan 21 1945 due to low on gas

Hello,

Does someone can help me with some more info on the following emergency landing , B24 453BG/735BS landing at A-92 St-Trond Belgium on Jan 21 1945 due to low on gas . 2nd Lt James R Welding must have been the pilot. The aircraft probably had the number ...128493. This info is mentioned on page 1689 REEL BO492.

Thanks in advance

Alain this could be 41-28943 a B-24H named "Dumbo" (41-28493 was W/O in the US in March 45); she was in the 735th as H6-Q+ and L-bar.
Is the date right though? The 453BG flew on the 21st but apparently not "Dumbo", she was on the 31st. Jan. mission when they were recalled due to bad weather.
There are several photos on-line plus her mission list.
Regards
Nick

Hi Alain. This is "Dumbo"'s mission list from Ray, note no 21st. Jan. though he says it's not complete.
"535" is not related to serial, this is her number on the production line at Tulsa,
she was the second in this block (numbers for these B-24H-20-DTs --there were 65-- were 534-598).
Douglas also allocated numbers for their Tulsa-built B-24s, "Dumbo" was no.16058. When transferred to 732BS her name was "The Pistol Packin' Pachyderm" with same artwork.
