Help with Flugbuch Please

Hi guys

Can anyone read the attached comment in Willi Gaul's Flugbuch shown for 22.12.42 referring to Cognac? The aircraft involved is a Ju88 of Stab, III./KG40.

Thank you
Tim O.

Re: Help with Flugbuch Please

@ Tim,

it reads: "Motorbrand Cognac brennend abgestürzt"
(Engine on fire Cognac crashed in flames).

Best Regards
Norbert

Re: Help with Flugbuch Please

Hi Norbert

Thank you very much indeed. Fantastic help.

As a matter of interest, although Oberleutnant Willi Gaul was flying the aircraft, Hauptmann Robert Kowalewski (Ritterkreuzträger and Gruppenkommandeur III./KG40) was acting as observer on this flight. The aircraft was Ju88 F8+ED.

Best wishes
Tim O.
