Cause of loss of KG 27 He 111 on 28 September 1944.

Hi everyone

From Walter Waiss's magnificent series on the history of KG 27 there is a reference in Volume 6 at page 116 that the 5./KG 27 He 111 H-20 WNr 701242 1G+DM 100% write off was shot down 3km N Belgrade and crashed near Semlin at 0440; Fw Karl Schott and five KiA, one survived WiA.

Does anyone have ideas on what shot it down? I cannot find any RAF or USAAF claims.

Also can anyone confirm if the cash at 0440 was the morning of 28th September, or the morning of 29th September?

Regards

Russell
