11 Jan 1944 USAAF B-17 shot down over Hildesheim
On 11 January 1944, a formation of ca. 25 USAAF B-17s was attacked over Hildesheim by a single German Ju 88, which shot down the last B-17. Local time 1230 hrs.
The Ju 88 was a night fighter of 4./NJG 3 flown by Bruno Rupp. Does anybody know any details about unit, aircraft and crew of the bomber? Claus Nattermann |
