Which Luftwaffe unit bombed Witney?
It seems that the Luftwaffe bombed Witney Oxfordshire on the 21st and 22nd November 1940 possibly when bombing RAF Brize Norton. I would be grateful to know which unit was responsible.

No mention in the Lagebericht or Luftflotte 3 records so maybe an aircraft returning from Birmingham? Do you have a time?

Re: Which Luftwaffe unit bombed Witney?
Hi Chris, thanks for the reply.
That's all I have, I'm afraid, only two SC250's dropped which makes me think the town wasn't the target although an extensive aircraft repair facility existed very close to the town at the De Havilland works on Witney Aerodrome which would have been a good target. |
