Re: German Air gunner Kills
It' s been a while since those imputs had become known to this interesting topic about German Air gunner kills. How about the gunners aboard Fw-200,Bv-138,and Do-24s? They must have gotten kills as well?

Re: German Air gunner Kills
Although a few Condors shot down aircraft, the kill appears to have never been credited to the gunner but the aircraft commander. During my research into the Do17, I don’t remember any named gunner being credited with kills. Finishing off my Do 217 book, I have come across a few gunner claims details of which are in the text but again it’s incomplete, especially when the bomber was shot down in the combat

Re: German Air gunner Kills
Good morning dear Chris Goss,
Condors shot down aircraft ?! Can you name an aircraft commander who was credited with a kill ? I've found your Do 217 book in the German amazon https://www.amazon.de/Dornier-Units-...0281517&sr=8-3 and will order mine in September. Have a nice Thursday, Michael |

Re: German Air gunner Kills
Michael: My book on the Fw 200 has 4.5 pages of details of encounters with Allied aircraft and for example, on 17 Jul 41, gunners from the Fw 200 commanded by Oblt Rudolf Heindl shot down Whitley Z6635/Q of 502 Sqn.
As to Do 217, the Osprey book is out in September but the Crecy book will be next year and is 80,000 words having finished the text yesterday |

Re: German Air gunner Kills
I'll try to find out if they can be delivered to Switzerland, where I live.
My favourite Condor pilot is Johann Peter Baur. Did you know that he is the top-scoring pilot of the Hannover CL.IIIa ? Cheers, Michael |

Re: German Air gunner Kills
3 mar 1940 was a good day for a Do-17 gunner of 1(F)/22. First of all the aircraft was attacked by Adj Chef Gras, Adj De Montgolfer and Sgt Chef Janebn of GC II/5 which claimed a probable. Then it was attacked by 3 Hurricanes of the Belgian Air Force 2/I/2 h26 flown by S/Lt x Henrard shot down KIA, H33 Sgt E Lieutenant FTL damaged and H35 Sgt Lelieve damaged. In return the Do-17 suffered only 5% damage!
Also this day the Belgian AF had 1/I/1 Foxs O.12 and O.30 lost in a collision 1 KIFA and 1 OK. 2/I/2 had Hurricane H39 wrecked WIC. 7/III/3 Fox O.181 wreck 1 KIC! see "Fledging Eagles and the Battle of France Then and Now |
