Unknown He 51 Emblem - 2nd Attempt

All,

In response to the now closed thread on the hitherto unknown He 51 emblem here http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?t=39584 , Merlin posted his detailed assessment in the thread on the He 51 aircraft designations here http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?t=39608 , post No.5.

"… The He 51C "white 5" from the photo belonged to 1./StG 165 at Kitzingen. The initial equipment of this group since it’s formation in March 1936 were He 51 and Ar 65 with tactical markings like a fighter unit but without any colour code at the engine. These aircraft were replaced by Hs 123 in spring 1937.

Several aircraft of 1./StG 165 have had an individual symbol on a white square with a black border. Known examples are:
"white 1" a red devils head
"white 5" a winged dragon or similar
"white 10" a horse head (not a sea horse)…"

Having reviewed this excellent response, I would like to know whether the above assessment on the He 51 "white 10" sporting a horse head emblem is in any way related to the emblem identified in Prien, Stemmer and others JFV der Deutschen Luftwaffe 1934-45, Teil I (i.e., Part I), as being the sea horse emblem of I./136?

If it is, that would mean that the line up of I./StG 165 aircraft was taken for I./136 aircraft. The authors made every effort to publish corrections to their work starting from Teil II – was this one listed as well (if applicable)?

I am making this query on the TOCH because at present I do not have the access to my library. Any assistance in this respect will be highly valued.

Regards,
Sinisa
