Peter, thank you very much!
P.S. I bought your book last year: "Rumunské kokardy nad Československem".
Congratulations, great book!

Re: Walter Ibold,DKiG

What did Walter Ibold did after World War II? Was Ibold in the Bundeswehr-Luftwaffe? Do you have a wartime picture of Ibold?

He flew with 14./JG 300 from the establishment of IV. Gruppe in September 44 to 30 April 45 (his last sortie) surrendering on May 8. His various accounts can be found throughout Vol II of the Lorant/Goyat JG 300 history along with a photo on page 237. He led IV. Gruppe in combat on the 14 January sortie during which he claimed a 357th FG P-51, before he and his wingman Deutscher were both shot down themselves;

" I had flown some 60-70 combat sorties on twin and single-engine fighters. As far as victories were concerned, in the heat of combat, rare were the opportunities to observe what happened to those aircraft on which I managed to open fire.."

Re: Walter Ibold,DKiG

His DiG is written by hand in wehrpass somewhat strange way...suspicious...
He flew with ZG 76 since autumn 1943...then for a while with JG 76 over market garden battlefield and then IV./JG 300 as stated by Neil.

Re: Walter Ibold,DKiG

You mean to say that Walter Ibold doesn't know his final air to air kill claims?
