Pe-2 escort mission at Sebastopol

Hello

During the siege of Sebastopol in 1942, the soviet, lacking long range escort fighters, used Pe-2 to escort shipping.

Did they encounter ennemy aircraft ?

Is there an account of such combat ?

Thank you in advance

Hi!

Just 5 cents:

Sevastopol

The must read book is:

Мирослав Морозов/Miroslav Morozov
Воздушная битва за Севастополь. 1941-1942/ AirWar over Sevastopol, 1941-42.
464 pages.

http://www.ozon.ru/context/detail/id/3271548/

Many b/w photoes, some of them never published before.
Detailed, day by day, view of operations, losses of each sides envolved, with confirmation of claims of VVS, Luftwaffe and ARR...

Very good book.

In French they write Sebastopol, but do not ask me why. I have wondered myself.

The last word caught my eye. Is there any information on the activity of Rumanian aviation, too?

Re: Pe-2 escort mission at Sebastopol

Could someone please translate this book into german or english .

Maybe the french write Sebastopol because the cyrillic letter looks like the latin "b"...

Yogy:

As far as I have "Translator" diploma, I can easily read english and understand all. Also, I can understand english speach very clearly.

But: I really have problems with russian>english translation. Making mistakes, spelling, grammar and so on.

I really could translate any issue or book, but it will be very bad translation

Evgeny,

If you happen to buy the book and have time to look for any info on ARR shotdowns (or victories), I would very much appreciate it. The language problem is actually no problem at all.
I only hope to be able to somehow reciprocate your kindness.

Re: Pe-2 escort mission at Sebastopol

Denes - I visited bookstore today, and during 2 hours looked through that book.

Unfortunatly, I was not right.

There are only Luftwaffe vs VVS. ARR actions not described. In "Sourses" 1 book is mentioned, something "German and Romanian activity against shipping in 41-45", but I dont noted author... And didnt saw any description in chapter "war over sea communications" about Romanian airforce.

Sorry.
