Nick, where did you track down the Grasshopper loss details? I've got a couple of other claims for so-called "Dragonflies" I'm interested in following up. The old www.armyairforces.com site had an MACR database but I never had any luck there.

Off topic, a little. Has anyone ever found out anything of his career in the Heer prior to joining the Luftwaffe?

Hello Nick

Many thanks for posting this information. I noticed that according to the list compiled by Wood his victory on 18 July 1944 is given as a Spitfire. What does Prien or Mathews have to say about this?
