Arado Ar 234 B-2b T5+IH and/or T5+JH?

Good morning,

Thanks to Ed West for including flugbuchen in his postings, I gleaned this page of Ltn. Seybold's log:

http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/album....&pictureid=703

From the above flugbuch and that of Ofw. Karl Nitschke (see p. 122 of Brown etal., Messerschmitt Me 262 Production & Arado Ar 234 Final Operations, (2012)), is the T5+JH mentioned the same aircraft as the T5+IH, W.Nr. 140 469 of 1.(F)/100 listed in the Staffel's strength return of 14 March 1945?

(For the strength return of 14 March 1945, see Nick Beale's well-researched essay on his Ghostbombers site.)

Note that Seybold lists JH for 14 March.

best regards,

Jim

Re: Arado Ar 234 B-2b T5+IH and/or T5+JH?

I'd say that it was W.Nr. 140469 which Seybold flew on 16 February. His next flight was in T5+JH and by 14 March T5+IH is reported by 1.(F)/100 as 140469 (Uppercase I and J often seem to have been interchangeable in German documents).

W.Nr. 140149 was listed T5+AH in the report of 14 March 1945 (attached).

Thank you, Nick!

My apologies. I miscopied the werknummer from your essay, now corrected.

Jim
