Wants to order the book at bol.com:

Order an additional € 0.01 on items and your order will be shipped for free.

Why you have to be like that, bol.com? :-(

Looks interesting

I wonder if our own Nick Beale has something to do with it?

Cheers

Re: Breaking the Luftwaffe: ULTRA as a Weapon of the USAAF

It's among the many books to be published early this year by Mortons Books: https://www.mortonsbooks.co.uk/aviation. I have received the booklet about the BV 155 from the same author, can't judge yet the content but it is of high quality printing.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but isn't this a reprint of:

[U.S. Army Air Force], ULTRA and the History of the United States Strategic Air Force in Europe vs The German Air Force (Frederick (MD), 1984).

Re: Breaking the Luftwaffe: ULTRA as a Weapon of the USAAF

I asked Dan Sharp himself. The book is not a reprint of any previous work. However, the book is unlikely to be ready in the near future as according to Dan archives are now closed preventing research.

Re: Breaking the Luftwaffe: ULTRA as a Weapon of the USAAF

Thanks, Jukka, and that's good. The 1984 edition was written by the USAF History Department and was very, very slim on details because the details of the ULTRA secret were just beginning to be revealed in the late 1970's and early 1980's, so the authors may have been under some restrictions as to how far they could go with it. At least that's my recollection when I read it in 1987 or 1988.

Re: Breaking the Luftwaffe: ULTRA as a Weapon of the USAAF

Potentially sad news: Dan Sharp implied that he might be dropping the project entirely due to the archival closure and low pre-order sales. Anyone wishing to convince him to continue should encourage him on www.secretprojects.co.uk forum.
