Needed: Rudder Details Oblt Schnell 190A-4 III/JG2
Hi;
In Peter Rodeike's opus on the Fw 190, there are two nice pictures of the 190A-4 of Oblt Siegfried Schnell (wnr 746 - Pg 119.) I'm interested in the rudder, specifically the victory markings thereon. I can get most of them from other pictures in the same volume of Schnell's 190A-3 (Pg 96) but the last two rows are a mystery. Anyone have a clearer picture of the rudder of the aircraft? I'm specifically intersted in the nationalities of victories 65-73....... Thanks! Paul |

Re: Needed: Rudder Details Oblt Schnell 190A-4 III/JG2
Hi Paul,
The victory of 65 was against England and to 73 against USAF. In the book of David Wadman's Classic Publications and Martin Pagee "Jagdwaffe - Holding the Wes 1941-1943", you can find several images of this a/c on the left and right side and an excellent image of the rudder. I wait to have helped you. Hugs, E. Brettas www.avesdobrasil.com.br |

Schnell Victories
Hi guys
I have Spitfires listed as his victories 65 through 71. Victories 72 through 75 are B-17 bombers. This information from Wood's victory lists. Please look at www.luftwaffe.cz/schnell.html which also has a partial victory list and a nice photograph of his victory markings which is in agreement with the information that I have. If you wish please send me a PM with your e-mail and I can send you what I have on this ace (mainly the victory list). Horrido! Leo |
