Two Heinkel 111 J losses (with the same WNr 5050)

Hi Guys

Hoping for some help with the Heinkel 111 J WNr 5050
For some reason I have that one listed as destroyed twice

1) DD+BT 30.5.1940 with 3./Fl.Erg.Gr (See) at Weissbach, and
2) M7+AK 1.6.1940 with 1./Kü.Fl.Gr. 806 in the North Sea (Dogger's Banks)

Since the complete crew was killed in DD+BT I find it very unlikely it was re-surrected and flying again in two days.

Anyone who has the correct details?

B Rgds
Stig

http://www.luftwaffe-zur-see.de/Seel...n/Jahr1940.htm has both losses and only gives WNr 5050 for the first, no WNr for the second.

Thanks a lot Laurent

I had completely forgotten that page
Perhaps WNr 5150 for the other?
Going through their list right now....

Cheers
Stig

Re: Two Heinkel 111 J losses (with the same WNr 5050)

Dear Stig,

the reason for this confusion is that in the KTB for Gen.d.Lw.b.Ob.d.M./O.Qu
the same W.Nr. 5050 is quoted for both incidents.

I understand Seaplanes

Thanks for telling me!

I have listed the other under WNr 5150. So far I have not found anything to that WNr. Of course I also mention the reason why....

Cheers

Sigh Matti

You could sink an aircraft carrier....
Oh well, just to tease you a bit, I have now placed the second loss of 5050 to 5005. Anything on that?
Somehow WNr 5005 does not feel likely, but I just can't stop now, can I?

However, as usual, a big thanks for checking!!!

Cheers
Stig

Well Matti

Must say I just had a great laugh...on my account....

Any idea what the second WNr could be or are we stumped?
Fascinating to watch you in action like this!

Cheers

Re: Two Heinkel 111 J losses (with the same WNr 5050)

Stig, could the designation He 111 J be correct? If so it would narrow down your search for a J W.Nr.
