JGr.Ost losses 7 July 1944

Hello,

according to Caldwell's "Day fighters in defence of the reich", on 7 July 1944 JGr.Ost lost 4 Me109s/Fw190s destroyed and 2 damaged in combat against the 15th Air Force.
Do You have any details about these losses?
Thank You in advance.

Regards.

Marco

Re: JGr.Ost losses 7 July 1944

JGr Ost claims:
Ofhr. Steins (2./JGr.Ost) P-51, 15 Ost S/QQ-1: no height [Ratibor] 11.15 hod.
Ofw. Müller (3./JGr. Ost) B-24, 70R/SQ-3 at 7.000 m. [E. Prossnitz] 11.29 hod.
Ltn. Karlheinz Cordes (1./JGr. Ost) B-24, 70R/SQ-9 at 5.000 m. [E. Prossnitz] 11.47 hod.
Ltn. Werner Schaldt (2./JGr. Ost) B-24, 15 Ost S/UR-9: 6.500 m. [N. Trentschin] 12.05-10 hod.
Ofw. Herzog (4./JGr. Ost) B-24 HSS, 14 Ost N/AR-4: 6.500 m. [S. Trentschin] 12.20 hod.
Hptm. Wienhusen (4./JGr. Ost) B-24, 14 Ost N/DR-19: no height [N. Neuhausel] 12.40 hod.

I. Gruppe suffered:
damage or destruction of 14 planes.
in combat were lost
FjGw. H. Bachnick, Fhr. K. Schell a Fw. X. Forster were WIA.
Lt. Werner Schaldt was KIA over Slovakia...
Hannig in his book of memories remembers the action which is 99% from 7.7.1944 and he mentions his plane was also lost...
three planes were damaged in combat
four were damaged.destroyed on training flights.

From Liegnitz took off at 10:25 hod. 11 FW 190 of 1. Staffel JGr. Ost, which at 7000 m over Breslau accompanied 24 Me 109 of 2. Staffel, which took off at 10:27 hod. from Wiedengut. Combat between 11:00 and 11:45 hod.
Interesting is fact that claims were made also by 3. and 4. Staffel pilots, who must have been in the 1. or 2. staffel formation.

hope it helps
