Re: Looking for Allied claims MTO on these DATES
Thank you very much Frank, your info has saved me a lot of time.
Can you help with any details of the RAF Fighter claims for the 10-9-43 over Italy, thats if they made any, I have all the U.S. claims(from you book on MTO U.S. claims) AND F.A.A. claims. So any help would be great. Best Wishes David |

Re: Looking for Allied claims MTO on these DATES
Dear David,
Two RAF Spitfire squadrons were involved in combat on 10 September 1943. 0940-1200 over Salerno 154 Squadron met four Bf 109s. Flt Lt W.I.H.Maguire claimed two shot down; Flt Sgt N.S.Ewart was MIA. Same area 111 Squadron encountered two FW 190s; one claimed by Flg Off I.F.Kennedy and Sgt H.S. Eccleston jointly. You say you already have the Fleet Air Arm Seafire claims. You will find notes on Maguire and Kennedy in 'Aces High', and Eccleston in 'Those Other Eagles'. 'Hap' Kennedy also wrote an excellent autobiography, 'Black Crosses off my Wingtip'.
