Combat Records of Coastal Command units

Hi,

When searching for Combat Records of Coastal Command units on National Archives DocumentsOnline, I find very few records on AIR50. Where can I find these Combat Records? Together with the Squadron ORBs or should I look for other documents to find information about combats?

I am just now reading Bloody Biscay by Chriss Goss and it includes information about combats taken from Coastal Command Intelligence, Summaries. Where can I find them? I just tried to find them on the National Archives with little success

Thanks in advance
Peter

Re: Combat Records of Coastal Command units

There is quite a possibility that the Combat Reports are at the NA.
They could be in the Appendicies to the Squadron ORB's.
This is the case with the squadron I am researching (127(F) Squadron).
The Operational Record Books are in AIR27 and are available to view at the NA on Micro film.
You can also order a copy on CD but this is quite expensive if you are only interested in a few pages.
Regards
Andy

Re: Combat Records of Coastal Command units

I have only ever seen the CC Int Sums at the AHB-they are bound copies and cover the whole war listing, with a precis, combats against aircraft, ships and submarines. Early on it just states Sqn, ac code and what happened; later it mentions names. I have listed all combats with ac mentioned in these summaries if you have specific queries
