TGr. 30

Bonjour,

What was the last airfield of TGr.30 and who was his last Kommandeur?

Thanks in advance.

Chris

Re: TGr. 30

Their last base seems to have been Kaufbeuren although on 6 May 1945 Luftflotte 6 intended to move them to Salzburg.

Hptm. Erich Langer took over temporary command after Oberstleutnant Klamke was killed in mid-April. I don't know if a permanent appointment was made after that.

Re: TGr. 30

A Booklet on TG 30 states this 'The group moved once more to Eggebeck near Schleswig on 4 May and there we experienced the capitulation '.
Original - 'Die Gruppe Verlegte noch Einmal am 4.Mai nach Eggebeck bei Schleswig und dort erlebten wir die Kapitulation '
Some elements may have been at Salzburg as Nick's post,

Re: TGr. 30

Another member of the forum was kind enough to send me some photo copies of the booklet when I was looking into supply flights to the Channel Islands and Festungs . If you PM me an e-mail address I will send the sheet with the publication details, I believe it was written by Ernst Hartmann and was published in 1997,

Regards
Brian Bines

Re: TGr. 30

At least 3 TG 30 were at Eggebeck may 1945. See attached extract from AIR 24 1518.

Which I should have known because I have that document, although mine came from AIR55/227. Thanks for the reminder!

Re: TGr. 30

Not only the 3. , but the whole group, 17 is for the group, on 24.April they were still in Kaufbeuren nd Reichenbach , 1 H-20 nd 9 H-6, seems that the planes hv different equipment, some are intented for long travels, other for short ones
