Re: Lt. Col. Charles H. Young, 439th TCG
Lt. Col. Charles H. Young, aircraft commander (flying left seat)
1 Lt. Adam Parsons, pilot (flying right seat) 2 Lt. Vincent Paterno, navigator SSgt John A. Dougherty, radio operator SSgt Charles E. Patterson, crew cheif source, p. 125, Col. Charles E. Young, Into the Valley, Dallas, PrintComm, 1995. BTW, your illustration is inaccurate. The Argonia had a radome under the belly and an individual aircraft letter on the upper right wing. Check the Osprey on the C-47 in the ETO.

2 Lt. Paul Foynes radat navigator and the author's middle initial is indeed H. The paratroopers carried included Col. Sink, commander of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment. Sorry! David Isby

Re: Lt. Col. Charles H. Young, 439th TCG
Radar was for the modified H2X (SCR-711) used for navigation by lead ships. IX TCC C-47s were limited in number of Gee sets RAF could provide. RAF lead ships, using Gee (and with navigators from PFF) did not have similar fit. INTO THE VALLEY has photographs of the Argonia with radome visible.
Maybe someone will do a proper radome in 1/72 and 1/48 scale. Best regards, David Isby
