III. KG51 - Home movie 1940-41

Posted a couple of years ago; but thought may be interesting to new members. Extensive footage of KG51 operations between 1940-41, but from a non-propaganda perspective; includes, Vienna-Neustadt, Battle of Britain, Balkans and into Russia. Shows some very unique and remarkable film from bombing run training; air to air footage to crash landings and the challenges of operating on make-shift forward airfields.

The crash landing film at 10:53:29 must have been a common sight in the Summer of 1940 as damaged aircraft with wounded and dead aboard managed to return to France.

Will be of interest to any Ju88 fans I'm sure.

10:53:29 shows the crash landing of Major Anton Serschen (Staka 9./KG51) at Lezany airfield on 18.6.1941 after ferry flight from Wiener Neustadt. You can see Serchen get off his plane. The next "Fliegerdenkmal" is the plane of Fw.Hille.
The bomb run training is the demonstration of of the SD-2 bomb.
