Hans Wind

I have Hans Wind making 22 claims between 24 January and 17 July 1943. 3 of these were shared with other pilots making a total of 20.5 victories giving him a total of 35 confirmed. However according to most sources he made claims for only 19 victories in the same period to reach 33.5 confirmed. Can anyone tell me if any of his claims during this period were shared or unconfirmed?

Re: Hans Wind

Hello Keith
I counted 18 plus two ½s, so 18 victories plus 2 which were shared with another pilot, altogether 19 in tally.

Re: Hans Wind

Beware that in the Luftwaffe you were not allowed shared victories.

Re: Hans Wind

That's true but in FAF we had shared victories, 1/6 or 1/7 was smallest I have seen.

Re: Hans Wind

Hello
on 21.3. there was no FAF claim, see attachment; forget the attachment, my photo was 4Kb over max permitted. Anyway, no FAF claim on that day.
on 21.4. Wind was credited with 2½ only

Re: Hans Wind

The problem with the FAF victory lists is that there are couple different versions around; after war as example Juutilainen's claims were reduced. But that is a quite complicated issue...

Re: Hans Wind

Hello Harri
I know, but I checked both the list which gives date, place, KD number from were one can find the combat report and so on, sometimes time, a/c number and witness added by red pencil, seems to complete with LeLv 24, 34 and 26 at least but lacking at least part of claims made over Maaselän Kangas plus the one which only gives date, sqn, victim and area, but seems to be complete and checked also Suomen Ilmavoimat 1943 and SIH 27. All agreed in this matter.

Re: Hans Wind

Harri
to be more exact I used the lists from T19284/129 file
No 4 Lentojoukkojen henkilökohtainen ilmavoittotilasto vv. 1941 - 1944 and
No 1 Luettelo Lentojoukkojen alasampumista viholliskoneista
after first checking from Suomen Ilmavoimat 1943 and SIH 27.
