Aviation graveyard uncovered in Ohio

Dear All,

Just saw these photos of a post-WW II aircraft graveyard in Ohio. Amongst aircaft seen are an F7U Cutlass, F-86D, "B-25, a Vultee BT-15 Trainer, a Goodyear FG-1D Corsair with an experimental engine, and even a clubhouse that his kids used to use, made out of a Fairchild c-82 Boxcar fuselage." The aircraft were collected together by Walter Soplata, who scooped up aircraft for a song to preserve them, rather than them being put in the smelter.

Enjoy.

Regards,
Richard

Interesting, Richard. THX I wonder why the family has refused to sell the planes to museums? Surely, the could get some decent bucks. Sooner or later the scrap metal people will find them.

From what I have read elsewhere, they have donated more than one plane to a museum only to have the museum sell it off later.
