Vickers Warwick Crash 15/11/44

I have this information on this crash but there is confusion, Vickers Warwick, crashed 15th november 1944 at 15.40hrs at 'hall farm'

Greensted or Geenstead Green ?

These are two separate places in Essex and I do not have the serial number for the Aircraft can anyone help, I have tried several sources but information on Warwicks seems harder to find any help would be greatly appreciated

Don't know whether you're looking for this one..........
Warwick I - BV528 of 278 Sqn: 15.11.44: engine caught fire on take-off, lost height, hit trees and blew up ½ mile east of Blake Hall Station, Essex.

Tumper: Henk's details for Blake Hall Station (closed 1981 on the Central Line, penultimate station to Ongar) are able to locate the approximate crash site via Streetmap.

Thanks guys It is a real help to know, it has been a real struggle to find anything up to now, is there any information about the fate of the crew ?

Given that the Warwick was principally used for AirSea Rescue, I'm not sure why this seems to have been inland. It therefore makes me wonder if this was a BOAC transport version, but you'd need some better ID to get much further. The RAF had 15 Sqns of Warwicks so perhaps a trawl through the Sqn histories might add more light. There used to be a Aviation Museum at Blake Hall (former Ops Room for North Weald ), search under Blake Hall Aviation Museum and there is a current address. Perhaps they or the North Weald Museum has some more on this one.
Additionally if you live near Chelmsford the Essex Records office in Wharf Road has on microfilm file T/A 679 which is Essex Police Log of wartime events which includes details of Aircraft Crashes . The amount of detail per incident varies but the Warwick crash may be included.

The museum at Blake Hall went a couple of years ago, I dont think they even knew anything of this event, local people swore blind it was a German Bomber at first, we have records from Essex County County Archive at Chelmsford which gave the date and type that was all we could find, normally it's a lot more straightforward, even the Ministry Of Defence could shed no light on it.

I assume it took off from North Weald, which is not far from the Essex Coast perhaps it was in transit, delivery flight possibly, it is an oddity for the area for sure
