Lt Roger Perrier GC1/7 claim for Me410?

On either 2nd or 24th April Lieutenant Roger Perrier is shown in sources (CieldeGloire, Les pilotes de chasse...) as claiming an Me210 or Me410 at Algiers. Can anyone give me details? The combat is not shown the Shores et al. MAW (Vol.4).

regards

Keith

Sorry...1944, I can only ask for acceptance for my error after a long lunch with my daughter - involving wine

Re: Lt Roger Perrier GC1/7 claim for Me410?

Keith,

The ORB (Form 540) for 328 Sqn.(GC 1/7) shows Perrier intercepting a Me 410 at 26,000 ft.(?) on April 20. Because of the 'watermark' in the online viewer it's difficult to read (written in French) but, as best I can make out, it seems that Perrier's guns malfunctioned and no claim was made. I could be wrong. You can of course download the ORB and get a better view.

Interestingly there is no mention of this in the Form 541 for that date. Perrier is not even listed as flying on April 20.

Best wishes,
Tom

Re: Lt Roger Perrier GC1/7 claim for Me410?

In the history of GC 1/7 (328°Sqd),he is well credited with a Me.410 on the 20/04/1944.
His combat report:witness Lt.Chombard
......having exhausted my ammunition.....I completed a certification request for a damaged Me.410.Confirmed a few days later as the listening service heard the German PC calling the Me.410 pilot unanswered until 1 am.

Thanks, Michel, for the clarification. I haven't gotten MAW 4 yet. Do you know the serial number of the Spitfire Perrier was flying during this engagement?
