Fliegerdivision 2 sorties ULTRA KV7903

Hello,

can someone help me with message ULTRA KV7903 : Fliegerdivision 2 sorties night tenth eleventh (june 1944) : attack on shipping targets by total of 25 aircraft.
This part of the message is followed without separation by detail of losses sustained by KG40 and III/KG100 ... it seems to me on night 9 to 10 june ?

I would like to know if the 25 planes mentionned are effectively Ju-88 torpedo aircraft of KG26 and KG77. If it is the case, anymore info concerning this operation ? I find nothing more in Ultra.

Regards

Claude

Claude, what is the reference at the top left of the message? (It should begin Ref: CX/MSS/…)

Hello Nick,

it is not easy to tell you because the document is a little fuzzy. All I can read seems to be : C./..../UN.... DOCUMENTS ?

But part of this message is also in KV 7900 whose reference is :
CX/MSS/UNREPORTED DOCUMENTS so I think the reference must be the same !

That will be what it says, making a bit harder to find any related messages, but I will have a look.

Re: Fliegerdivision 2 sorties ULTRA KV7903

The attached item is the best I can come up with at the moment. Aircraft from Fl. Div. 2 would have been Ju 88 torpedo bombers of KG 26 and 77, as you say. The only other unit from the Division that occasionally contributed to operations over the Channel was 1.(F)/33 which (as I recall) sometimes sent a reconnaissance aircraft along with the torpedo-bombers.
