Maj Gerhard Schöpfel, JG 4, 6 Aug 44
The above was shot down near Schwerin on the stated date. Has anyone ascertained who got him? All the claims I have are around 1100-1230 hrs and the only mention of Schwerin comes from the 503rd FS. This could be a question for the Allied Board but by putting in his name here might get more hits!

You are probably talking about this one? http://www.spitfireperformance.com/m...man-6aug44.jpg It seems, that this is one of the few that saw the German pilot bailing out...Do not have time to check the full USAAF claims for that day, though. Cheerio Adriano
