Text says shot down by e/a airplane. How come that it is on a table in England? It H2x machine. |

Hello,
Perhaps you should ask the seller ? Anyway it is it seems from 12th April 1944, B17G-20-VE - 42-97556, not 390BG but 413 BS/96BG " MZ- B". A PFF a/c. Shot down by an intruder the a/c crashed 100yds north of the Parish Church at Glenham House, Great Glenham, Suffolk. Three crew were killed, nine survived of which eight were injured. Some of the 500lb HE bombs aboard exploded, causing damage to property . Details from vol 3 "Losses of the US & 9th Air Forces" page 75, photo of a/c wreckage on page 76. Alex |
