Unknown aircraft type: JAR 80

Hi all,
maybe the vast resource of this board can help me with this type.
I found it as part of the Loss Reports of the Genaralquartiermeister.

On 21. May 1944 a JAR 80 asigned to JG 104 crashed and burnt out near Galatz. The damage is reported as 100% and the pilot Ltn. Petersen Peter was KIA.

Can anybody identify this aircraft for me please?

Thanks in advance,

Norbert

Hi Norbert,
possibly You mean the IAR 80. This is a Romanian design and was in service from 1942 to 1944.
More info on:

I.A.R. 80

The mentioned airplane type - as noted earlier - was a Rumanian made I.A.R. 80 fighter. However, it has to be clarified, that the airplane wore Rumanian (ARR) markings, not German (Luftwaffe).

IIRC, the airplane's number was 77. I have a photo of that belly landed and burned out airplane, as well as a print of Lt. Petersen.

It's interesting to note that Lt. Peter Petersen was born in Pueblo, Mexico!

P.S. I will send you a private message

Romanian planes design IAR-80 and IAR -81 were based on an orginal Polish fuselage of PZL P-24 sold to Romania in late 30s.
