ZG 26 losses on 7.7.1944

HI all

I am looking for losses of ZG 26 recorded in combat with 8USAAF on July 7, 1944. How many did they lost? One plane should be hit by Mustang...Any concrete ID?
Thanks a lot

Hi Peter,

According Mr. Prien IV./JG 3 Chronik:
I./ZG 26 1 KIA 1 WIA; 1 plane under 60% damage
II./ZG 26 5 KIA 4 WIA; 6 planes 60%-100% damage, no planes under 60%.

8th USAAF fighter units claimed 21.5 Me 410.

Hello Peter,

von Glasenapp was badly wounded and unable to leave the ship. He ordered his Bordfunker Olt Heinz Stege to bail out. Stege survived the war.

Best wishes, Karl
