No. 601 Sqn RAF Hurricane lost - 15 Aug 1940
Gents,
I'm looking for any information people can furnish me with about the following Hurricane and the fate of its pilot: 15-08-40 Hurricane I (P3232) from 601Sq abandoned over Durley. Pilot, Cleaver (?) landed at Lower Upham a/c crashed near Hensting. As an aside, any photos of the crashsite people may have would be much appreciated as I am quite certain my Grandfather was one of the soldiers tasked to guard the crash. I'm trying to identify him in a photo (long shot I know!). Bjorn |

The pilot was Plt Off 'Mouse' Cleaver (who was wounded in the eyes by perspex from return fire from a Ju 88 of II/LG 1) and as far as I am aware, no photos have surfaced
