Re: Arctic convoys

Would you only like planes lost during the attack themselves or also accidents during sorties flown during attacks on arctic convoys. Do you only want attacking planes or do you also want the numbers lost during recce missions for the conwoys ? How about the weather recce planes ? Quite a number of German planes were also lost during 'Verlegung' in Norway ...

Re: Arctic convoys

Thank you very much for your answers. I don't want the losses for each convoy but the total number of aircraft lost (attack and accident) by type of aircraft on PQ convoys.

PS: I have the informations fpr PQ 17.

Re: Arctic convoys

Hi Alain

If you can wait a few months all will be revealed in 'Air War over the Arctic: Murmansk and the Allied Convoys'

Cheers
Brian

Meanwhile, free to view or download from the National Archives website are the Ultra decrypts in the DEFE3 series. The Army/Luftwaffe material usually contains a fair bit about operations from Norway and you’d probably find additional information in the Naval and U-boat traffic.
