Info needed on Ju87 W. Nr. 5611 - Russian Loss

Hey guys...

I know this was an Eastern Front loss...but that is about it

Anyone else have any info?

18.4. II./StG 1 Feindflug Ort: bei Juchnow, Ursache: Notlandung infolge Flakbeschuss, Ju 87 B-1 5601 80%
F Lt Hans Buchholz verletzt
Bf Uffz Hans Bayerlein verletzt

Addition from 24 April 1942: Ändere Werknummer 5601 in 5611.

And Juchnow in German = Yukhnov in English (in Kalouga area, which was liberated in March 1942)

Ah, very interesting! I assume that even with an 80% loss...that both pilots survived the incident?

Hi Mike,

your assumption is correct, the two crew members survived this emergency landing, the aircraft was 80% damaged (= the aircraft was unusable).
