July 15, 1944 Allied aerial victory

Please, can someone tell me which unit claimed aerial victory on July 15, 1944 over Bu-131 biplane in Croatia (near Borovo/Vukovar)?

Thank you!
With kind regards,

Marko Jeras

Re: July 15, 1944 Allied aerial victory

In the early morning on 15 July 1944, four Mustangs of 213 Sqn. found 6 single-engine biplanes in the Vukovar area and claimed 4 shot down. The pilots were:

S/L Spencer R. Whiting in FB337 (AK-A)
F/O Roland Anthony in FB302
W/O D. E. Cooke in FB332
W/O Kenneth A. L. Ford in FB313 (AK-E)

Those Other Eagles credits Whiting with 2 of them. Unfortunately both the history of 213 The Hornet Strikes and the squadron ORB are unclear as to the allocation of the other 2 claims.

Regards,
Tom

2 to Whiting, 1 to Anthony, 1 to Cooke. The combat reports are in CR: Air 27/1318-192 to 194, which I believe is an appendix to the ORB.

David Edwin Cooke in FB322 AK-W.
Anthony in AK-S.

Enjoy!

Frank.
