Luftwaffe Nachtjagdgeschwader Bases in Northern France

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone knows the location of any bases or airstrips in Northern France that the German night fighters were launched from? So far I seem to have narrowed it down to Metz, Coulommiers, Chenay, St. Dizier, Chateaudun and Laon-Athies. Does anyone know of any others?

Also, does anyone know what is currently at Laon-Athies? I understand it's now abandoned, but is there any kind of an airstrip there or remnants of it as an active base?

Thanks for any help.

Yup. That's where I got my answers that I listed. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing any.

Does anyone know of a good source that lists whether these airfields are still used or abandoned today?

Hello!

For what I know you may add St André de l'Eure, Roye/Amy, Evreux, Juvincourt and Cambrai/Niergnies.

Laon/Athies has been "NATOised" in the 50s however most of the former German base is still there including the three runways (one transformed NATO) and most of the dispersal area...

I would recommend consulting the http://www.gyges.dk website which is a gold mine concerning everything related to Nachtjagd and Luftwaffe Radar/command centers.
